You may not believe this but quite a few ebay traders really do omit to check their ebay auction listings before they post them. Consequently their ebay auctions contain typos in the auction name or in the description.

Whether it’s a result of laziness (or just fat fingers), these mispelled auction items are almost impossible to uncover unless you’re using a specialized misspelt auction search engine. (Incidentally, I’ve recently stumbled across a brilliant eBay misspellings search engine called Missing-Auctions.com).

Anyway, the inability of eBay own search tool to find misspelled eBay items (often refered to as ‘fat fingers typos’) comes about because the built in search function only locates properly spelled words and not misspelled ebay items.

This means that unless you’re using a auction typos search tool (such as Missing-Auctions.com), the only way to track down incorrectly spelled ebay items is to wade through the auction listings line by line – a task that that can take quite a long time and is itself error prone.

But why do this ? Because these auction typos are quite tricky to track down they get less bids. As a result they normally sell for less, if at all at all. Sadly, these stupid ‘fat fingers ‘typing mistakes cost the sellers money but mean that you, the buyer, can get a real bargain.

Not surprisingly there are a large amount of people who buy ebay typo items just to resell them to earn some extra money.
